COURSE OVERVIEW
Teams are more effective when individual differences are recognized, acknowledged, respected and leveraged.  When individual contributors feel that their “value-add” is meaningful, they become more engaged and productive, and the team functions more efficiently and smoothly.  This conference is designed to focus on three critical aspects of leadership and team success.

  • Engaged Leadership Mindset:. The course will be designed to be highly interactive and collaborative, rather than merely “academic.” As our learners are primarily in the field already, the content will need to be highly applicable and practical.
  • Behaviors of Empowered Teams:  Great teams are built on a foundation of Trust. The course will be created to recognize, test and implement behaviorally-anchored approaches that build Team Trust.
  • Environmental Sustainability:  The sharing of a message/ shared understanding between a sender and receiver, is the most complex part of leading. Focusing on listening/hearing and speaking/being understood are cornerstone skills for great leadership, and great teams. This approach includes considerations of establishing and leveraging environmental scaffolds to encourage and support changes in the team’s culture.

The concepts, ideas, procedures, and opinions offered at PWEA educational opportunities are those expressed by the various presenters. The PWEA assumes no responsibility for errors or omissions in the presentations. This training was funded in part with a grant from the Water Environment Federation.
